A beautifully designed room decorated in a classically English style with the focal point being the British Victorian fireplace mantle. Here the dark mahogany stained fireplace practically sings against the glorious colour of the canary yellow walls and is made even more lovely by other important details such as the two custom-made receding cases full of books, hunting dog painting hung on the breast and the large classic crown molding at the ceiling. This is a highly successful and joyful room.

In studying the detail of this fine mahogany mantle, you will notice the neo classic surround  which uses voluted capitals of the Ionic order with exaggerated Adam detail in the swagged and curved garlands, typical of the period. (1837-1901)
